(don'T) Close Your Eyes Poem by Kimberly Hope

(don'T) Close Your Eyes

To close your eyes and never see daylight again,
to close your eyes and see a killers face,
a death upon a death, once upon a death
until it becomes your own.
To be afraid of closing your eyes, forever and ever.
To love and only be hated in return.
It is all a fair share if you're the Devil.
Having fear of everyone around you,
and to be terrified of even your closest friends.
For any of them can be your killer,
a victim of a lonely fantasy world.
To close your eyes for just a second,
just a second amongst a killer is all it takes.
this is all it takes for your Soul to disappear,
lose control and disappear from such a cruel world.
So say good night,
tell your people that you love them,
close your eyes only in peace,
and let your Soul disappear
into a new, undiscovered world of its own.
