Don'T Hurt Me Poem by Kathlene Ann

Don'T Hurt Me

Why do I trust you so damn much?
In the past you have betrayed my trust
And left me dangling way up here.
I rot and dry and fall so near
The edge.
Far from you, once sturdy oak,
I rock forth and back,
Towards and away from thee.
Yet even on this precipice
You try to cling to me.
How can I support both you and me
When I'm but a rotten fruit and you're a bearing tree.
I hear your roots creaking.
You've been uprooted I see.
How is it you fell before me?
I'm the one with the problems here,
You just let go of the edge out of fear.
Your moaning's growing dimmer now
As you fall down, down,
Down,
Down.

Beautiful poem. Some lines are really beautiful and very meaningful. The one who hurts, will be down. Best Wishes. Naseer
