Don'T Leave Poem by Thistle Wargul

Don'T Leave

Every day you carry on
Though the weight of it all drags you down.
Through the abuse that is needlessly spoken,
You struggle through the day.
I often hear you wondering
If anyone notices your efforts.
I know that you are wondering
Whether we would notice if you left.

The sorrow on you face
as he ignores your efforts.
The sagging of your shoulders
As more bad news arrives.

One day I heard you sobbing,
Hanging up the phone.
You do not tell your loved ones
For fear of hurting them.

A son too old, yet far too young
Who is due to soon leave home.
A daughter who is struggling
To keep up in her life.
Another child who you cannot
Seem to understand.
The husband who doesn't notice
The touch of your hand.

I see you watching us
And wondering whether we
Would notice if you left.
I feel my heart is breaking,
Feeling the sorrow you bear.
Please don't leave us and go away.
Although we do not show it,
We really all do care!
