Down Under Poem by Wilfred Alford

Down Under

the night goes on and the days get shorter.
the numbers in the phone seem so pointless.
the sudden rush of fear holds me under.
sleepless nights, im feeling hangover.
what is this pain? why does it leave me left under.
under the tracks of life, blinded by the thunder.
i dont do whats right nor take numbers.
i just sit and watch as they shoot me with thunder.
to keep me wrapped up and surrounded by others.
but no one takes notice or even sees the thunder.
so i deal with this because i have no others.
and they just cant and wont stop from pulling me under.
so i wait and continue to watch in need of a savior.
please someone pull me from down under.
and give me the chance to divide the evil growing all around us.
save me my savior for im in need of your teachings.
bring me back to the light and bail me out of hell because i dont belong down under.
