Dream Of Dreams Unfulfilled Poem by Baron von Savage

Dream Of Dreams Unfulfilled

I'M SWEATING
I'M BREATHING HEAVILY
THE CLOCK READS 12: 30
IT WAS JUST A DREAM
IT WAS JUST A DREAM
IT WAS...just a dream
Just a bad dream of dreams unfulfilled,
Life a waste
A dead end
A cubicle, cheap suit and a briefcase
Just the proverbial cog in the machine
Early mornings
Late nights
Physically exhausted
Mentally a corpse that has been resurrected for the sole purpose of serving another's purpose
Work is at surplus
Filing, filing, filing, filing, filing
Dying, dying, dying, dying, dying

Until...

Fifty floors between me and the surface,
Goodbye cruel world,
Make lose my shackles
No more than a crimson speckle on white top!

But...

It was all a dream
It was all just a dream
I am awake now and my dreams are yet to be fulfilled
