Dreaming: Up Against It

We deny that our dreaming
is not a natural thing;
we believe that it is.

Nietzsche declares it is not.
What's more (he loves 'What's more')
dreaming is the cause of our denying,
believing and lying.

To guarantee our right to the future,
dreaming we must stop.
Easy to see that to stop,
Uberman will will
and Unter will voluntarily take,
or be forced to swallow a pill.

Without dreams where would we be? How could anyone not have dreamed and hoped at some point in their lives. Sorry Douglas but I am a true believer. :)

Oh no dreaming is the stuff of poetry, I am, I admit with proud voice, a dreamer so while I like this poem I do not necessarily agree with its premise. Without dreams we are just walking automaton.
