Dreams Poem by Adedamola Michael Onalaja

Dreams

Rating: 4.0

In the dark of the night
The morning sun did shine brightly
With the saddening of faces
Did some, light up dazzling
Amongst the betrayed
Was unflinching loyalty found

In the unlikeliest of places
Did we find happiness and joy
For those that took the chance
Found them the remedy to their struggles
And for them that took the first step
Made it to the thousandth mile

In the background did some watch
Wishing they had taken that step
For those that stood on the fence in their comfort zone
Found them that, regret was harder to bear
And for them that envied
Only envied with more venom
For we have dared to pursue our dreams
And succeed we did

But alas I must say
It is never too late
For the chances will come
And blind shall we not become
To let such pass us by once again
For this time, our dreams must be seen
And so shall it be
