Hope Poem by Adedamola Michael Onalaja

Hope

The chance did come my way
But I chose to stay
There were tears in my heart
But my eyes did stay dry
I have grown as a man
But still a child at heart
I sought the advice of wise men I knew
But got no direct answer
They said it was up to me to find where I stand

So I m searching for the answers to my questions
For the healing of my heart
For the hands to dry my unshed tears
and to find my smile again
So I looked up to the sky with the sun shining down
And I knew there was hope, the hope of a lifetime

Come wiith me
I heard you say
with a soft spoken voice
and a smile to the voice
like you had the answers I deserve
and I followed to listen to what you had to say......

You said to me
you are who you are
and you choose where you go
You create your own footpath
by being exactly who you are
and never giving up on your conquest
The answers you seek are right in your face
but it seems you look too hard with your eyes closed
Open your eyes and be patient and hopeful.....
and you left with a smile
and I was speechless....

I found my answers
Right in front of me
and I knew I had a lot more to learn
and more questions to answer
but I m willing to keep my eyes open with hope while I search.....
