Dreamscape Poem by Branton Wilcox

Dreamscape

Rating: 5.0

I lie awake at night dreaming,
Of the one and only I can remember.
Feeling her warm hand locked with mine,
I can almost remember.

As I try to live what I wanted,
I want to forget what I remember.
Because You are the only one I seek,
And yet you have another.

Clinging desperately onto the dream,
I want to never wake.
In here I can live with you forever,
But I know that is not my fate.

As I remember the truth,
I begin to awake.
As I remember all I had not done,
I wish I was not too late.
I can only be with you,
As long as you're in my Dreamscape.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is my way to trying to get over a woman I cared about for a major part of my life. In my dreams I have of her they always have us just talking, holding hands or just waking up with each other. I think the thing I care about most in a relationship, to me anyways, is just being there for each other, everyday until we can't anymore. But I can't.
