Dreamworld Poem by Thomas Stearn

Dreamworld

Rating: 5.0

Days pass in time and place, civilisations rule,
Dressed up men in towering spires, silver in tongue and manner.
And where to man he hath now, of grander schemes one would believe
In deception of the public eye and tales told in lies by spies.
In truth, past and present now, insight sees through the rotten core,
Of rulers, governments and grand architects, who seek capital gain in spite and rule.
Those drunk on plastic wealth and laws who have no moral compass, live in
Un-earnt comfort in labour and luxury, and lay taunt for those in bad company.
Where one strives to lead in hope, let those be wary of the mole
Who seeks gain for goal and glory, of mans desires.
For the sun shines on and not now; in cities, on mountains, and on water.
Imagine a world of equal measure, a world lived peace in harmony,
Oh! What a world that would be. A world it could be.
I dream of a world of peace and prosperity, where one lives by another's needs
And by the teachings of their ancestors, of kindness in spirit and compassion.
Dare I dream of the dawn of a new beginning, that, unto then shall be a dream.
A dream of all dreams of mankind.
