Drenched Cry Poem by Mwansa Mulo

Drenched Cry

My body is trapped by a shiver;
encaged by the vibrations of nature;
t-shirt and shorts battle a stormy weather;
a cold flows down like a river.

Skeleton walk birthed as my legs jitter;
am being fertilised by these rain droplets;
flesh all soacked up like a sneaker;
imagine me drenched as cooked millet.

Still encaged in nature`s vibrations;
my bones vibrate like a break dance;
one reckoned am a sought of recarnation;
another thought wise knowing its a resistance.

A cotton cloth was shielding my heart;
a duffle bag was ammunition on my chest;
perhaps I was ready from the start;
well, never put your trust to test.

these thoughts were deeply heating my mind;
that my left hand burned words;
crippled by a cold in the spine;
reciting this poem is hard work.
