Drinking My Beer Poem by Randy McClave

Drinking My Beer

Beer use to bring me cheers
Now they just bring me tears,
Now I don't feel much like a man
Because, they placed a rainbow on my beer can.
Now how can I get a buzz or get drunk
Where I can walk like an opossum and smell like a skunk,
I don't mind buying guns and supporting the NRA
But, I don't want buying a beer to support anyone who is gay.
I am now so ashamed to ask my friends over
Now we can't share a hangover,
Now instead of talking about hunting or work dealings
We might instead start talking about our feelings.
I am now so embarrassed buying it in the store
I wouldn't even give a can to the poor,
Who knows maybe the beer will change who I am
Maybe, it will turn me Tran.
I now don't want anyone seeing me drink
Then them telling me that I don't stink,
Now I will have to hide the beer I'm drinking in a bag
Now about my beer, I can no longer brag.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I don't drink beer or any type of alcohol. I think it's funny how many beer drinkers and people are upset with a rainbow on a can of beer.
