Drugs

The blue ones help
me when I’m tired
The red ones help
me when I’m down

The pink ones help
me to be fun
The yellow ones help
me when I’m depressed

The white ones help
Me when I feel alone
The black ones help
Me to get to sleep

The green ones help
me to be strong
The brown ones help
me to feel good

The clear ones help
me to feel better
And the orange ones
just make me feel good

But not one could have prepared
me for this surprise
I am in a hospital bed
With an IV stuck in my thigh.

poet Ambrose Bierce

Weather
by Ambrose Bierce

Once I dipt into the future far as human eye could see,
And I saw the Chief Forecaster, dead as any one can be--
Dead and damned and shut in Hades as a liar from his birth,
