Dues Paid Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Dues Paid

Until you pay.
For doing dumb stuff.
Until you pay.
And give that stuff up.
You will never know,
What it is to mean to grow.
Until you pay.
Until you pay.
Until you pay the price to keep away,
From doing dumb stuff.
Until you pay.
The cost to turn your life around.
Paid!
With lessons learned to always obey.
Everyday.
And pray.
You'll be okay.
Knowing that your dues have been paid.
Without attempts to run from them or stray. F
Although there may have been a few delays.
Your dues to pay.
Have been paid.
Yes! Paid.
No one can say,
The doing had been easy.
Or a breeze to get it done!
