Dusky Path Poem by Isaac Barton

Dusky Path

Forever ash and blood shall yearn,
To meet, entwine in deathly urn
And dusky paths of wild flowers
Now wilter in Man's receding hours.
How vainly mortals in haste veer,
We pour the God's libation;
The laugh, the touch, the single tear
When life's a mere sensation.
