Dysfunctional Normalcy Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Dysfunctional Normalcy

People have been spoiled,
By given the ability...
To credit their lives,
To rising debts.
With a doing to live,
Way beyond their limited means.
Until...
Truth comes.
Putting down a virus.
Spreading it everywhere.
Ever-eee-where.
Leaving the people,
Demanded to do the right thing.
With a pretending,
To be disciplined about it.
And prove themselves,
Capable of being adults.
Using common sense and...
'Social distance' to prevent,
More victims added to this virus list.

And...
To witness dysfunction,
Displayed these days in ways it is.
From incompetent leadership.
To grown folks acting like kids.
Unable to listen,
With undivided attention given.
As truth is slowly repeatedly explained.
More it becomes too obvious to ignore,
The danger of returning back...
To a 'Free To Live It Normalcy',
Is frightening to accept.
That way of life as 'normal'.

Especially,
After having been given,
That once in a lifetime opportunity...
To experience the effective benefits,
A keeping of a 'social distance' brings.
With so much to offer to those awakening.
In a cleared consciousness to discover,
Truth, delusion, honesty and being duped,
Are quite different from one to the other.

Although...
If told this under 'normal' conditions,
People duped to delude...
Will not believe liars are dishonest.
And when behind a podium or pulpit,
Nothing is truthful spoken...
Comes out of their mouths to depend upon.
Except the mentioning eventually,
How valuable the dollar is in their lives.
