Echoes Poem by Vanessa Kingsley

Echoes

I don't know if You can hear me
Or if You're even there
I don't know if you would listen to the words I bear
The nights are cold
And days are long
I cannot hear the birds' playful song.
This place is shrouded
In secrets and fear
I wonder if you're here
Outside the leaves turn brown and fall
They pile up outside the walls
I walk the shadows in dark
In the light I roam the park
Two different worlds
In one small place
So many dreams that have been chased
