Ego Poem by Genevieve Pilat

Ego

Boastful ego, pompous pride
Covering up what you want to hide
Using confidence to cover up fear
You hold your ego very dear.

It's what you have, nothing more
With everything else you're slightly poor
You use your ego to live the day
To you there is no other way.

You think you are the best human
That's just the ego's wicked plan
For once the ego reaches its goal
It leaves you bare with a shattered soul.
