Electric Flow Poem by Monica O'Connor

Electric Flow

2.26.10

dizzy baby, im still spinning,
your heartbeat ringing in my ears.
the energy in my veins, it flows electric
you're the source of all my pain
say everything i wish you meant,
and i'll believe you because i can,
because the sound of the rain will
erase your words from my memory
until the sunshines again.
so i'll hold onto tonight like its forever,
pull me closer sweetheart,
so we're one body, soul, heartbeat.
tomorrow nothing will be the same,
the irreversible roles we play
have restricted us to our self-inflicted prison.
my nerves baby, they buzz electric,
myself, the constant sourse of pain.
and the sound of the rain will
erase your words in my memory
until the sunshines again.
