Embrace Poem by Matt Mooney

Embrace

Rating: 5.0

Bedecked with fans of ferns and little purple flowers,
Glad earth if you but could raise your lips to mine
And someway sling your leafy arms around my neck
I would lay with you and forever be your nature lover.

On the road that tops the hill and leads to Coolnaleen
We scent the summer hedgerows in the heat of day,
Remarking all the milestones like a low strong oak
Or gentle smooth young beeches and the wily ash.

Yellow furze and flagger by a hidden stream below;
Dashes of red roses and little strawberries ripening-
From the gateways fields are shaven from the baling,
Charolais as well within and the mountains far away.

And someway sling your leafy arms around my neck I would lay with you and forever be your nature lover. If so warm embrace you get from your journey why the craze for mountain then! Let it stay away. Charcoals are the trace of human who once would reside here, now you move, next another.The scenario changing with the time, changes intensity but the poet yet loves you the nature, without him all your displayed beauty will be meaningless. Mountains are away....echoing the line...mountains are made of stone....static(relatively) ....but our heart much dynamic and the nature with its dynamicity touches our soul. Leafs are swinging swinging the ferns and nature....leafy arms around my neck...simply fantastic.....Wordsworth nodding his head with pleasing admittance. Regards, 10++ pranab

This is glorious and picturesque writing Matt. The first stanza with earth to raise lips to yours and sling leafy arms around your neck is so original. Now as I look up at your Biography I can see you have written poetry books, so I will have a look as soon as I finish this comment. I know I love your work! 10 Karin Anderson
