Emerging poet

Born in a small village
to a poor parent who were unable to manage
even two square meals
the small child was feeling so sad about it

it made him work hard
to listen to each word
from the teachers
and concentrated as such

no fees to pay
and it was a long way
to steal the limelight
and prove the self-right

brought up with the hardship and poverty
it was real blessings from an almighty
it made him work sincerely
but fortune smiled on him really

the service to motherland provided insight
and gave an opportunity to fight
the enemy in open war
this really brightened his star

with poetical soul and liking
the poems were always striking
it started well with good response
from the readers and poets
