EMpower Me

Do not strip me
Of my personal power
In, this, my shining
And long-awaited hour

The struggle is over
And I have survived
I am no victim
For I have finally arrived

I fought the demons
That haunted me
This Phoenix will rise
Just watch and see

The woman I am
Is who I want to be
So watch me soar
As my spirit flies free

Fast moving, silk gliding poem, with a message that reminded me a bit of a Maya Angelou piece...I think she'd appreciate this fine effort of yours...I know I did! ~FjR~ (Report) Reply

After
by Robert Browning

Take the cloak from his face, and at first
Let the corpse do its worst!

How he lies in his rights of a man!
Death has done all death can.
