E mptiness of heart is common
M any equate happiness with wealth
P erhaps the glitter of gold blinds on
T aking all reason, values, and health
I n time fleeting Euphoria fades
N othingness is offered in place
E ach day a new craving appears
S eems to drown attention in many ways
S elf absorbed is one, in Greed and Fears.
O ften the emptiness comes at night
F or times alone reveal much light.
H appiness is nowhere in existence
E ach gadget fails satisfaction
A ll longings for more makes no sense
R evealing the absence and deception
T hen the truth comes forth, unmask pretense.
'Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income.'
