Ending Shores Poem by Jessica Millsaps

Ending Shores

Rating: 5.0

We reach a point
Who knows where or when
When we realize what we've lost
What we can't get back

We find out things about ourselves
That were hidden before
We see what we should become
What we will become

We realize that there is more to being a person
Than living and breathing
We must love and hope too
Who knows what, only you.

Only if you want to
Can you help
Can you make yourself the way you should be
Can you hope for the world.

When you realize who you really are
You also realize who you really aren't
You find out that maybe being different isn't so bad.
That loving and hoping and helping is better

At these ending shores
You watch what you were
What you are
Who you are

The way you wanted to be
The way you want to be
The way you will be
At these ending shores.

We find ourselves
We find who we are
We find us
We find a world where there was life in hope
Where she ran free
And spread her joy
We leave and go to her
At these ending shores
