Enough Poem by Jim Yerman

Enough

I wouldn't say we were wealthy growing up
but neither were we poor.
"You have enough! " Dad always said
"You don't need any more."

"You have enough food to eat,
enough clothes to wear,
a sturdy roof above you..."
"And besides your mom and I,
enough friends and family
who love you."

I've remembered Dad's words often
whenever times were tough...
and I've weathered every storm
knowing I've always had enough.
