Even In Our Blessings - Poem by Shalom Freedman

Even in our blessings
In what we have prayed for
And have come to realization
There are problems-

Life rarely gives us things just the way we want them
And we must struggle to maintain our happiness
Against countless realities we cannot quite accept-

Life is difficult
Even when it is blessed-
No one gets everything they want
Just the way they wanted,
And we must take much we do not like-
