Alone,
Does not go
Further
It chains you
To the past,
When love was
New
And pleasantly
We thought that
Forever and a day
It would surely
And securely
Last.

But
Trials and tribulations
In Life,
Are always close,
No longer can I
Hold up
The illusion
That someday,
Somewhere
We will meet
Again,
All I have
Are shadows
Of past memories,
That will not come
Back to our lives
Ever again,
Of how we were
Of how we loved
Intensely,
Way back, then.
