Every Regret Hurts (Day By Day) Poem by Matt Mercer

Every Regret Hurts (Day By Day)

How can I love someone
When I don't even know their name?
How can I love someone?
When their heart I cannot claim?

I lose myself in her eyes
And she won't hide that smile
I lose myself in her eyes
Until she's gone for while

Words can't describe her beauty
Not in this imperfect world
Words cannot describe her beauty
Her hair so beautifully curled

It feels like I've wasted a lifetime
For this moment to come along
It feels like I've wasted a lifetime
For this all to go wrong

I want to talk to you
Yet I'm afraid of the shame
I want to talk to you
But I've only got myself to blame
