Everybody Is Somebody

EVERYBODY IS SOMEBODY

Little boy was so wide eyed and had so many hopes and dreams,
Things didn't turn out how they seemed,
As you grew older the world seemed to grow colder,
Sensitivity you can see deep in your eyes,
You are living what you feel is the truth,
You can see others living lies,
Seems you are drifting endlessly, wandering around in the wilderness,
Even though you're used to it, you've had enough of this,
All you ever wanted was to belong,
You try to act like nothing's wrong,
Wandering around trying to find your calling,
Even though you found it, you still feel like you're falling,
You don't seem to see what everyone else can see,
You have no idea about your popularity,
I know that everybody wishes you well,
Even though you might not be able to tell,
Maybe it's time for you to see,
After all these years, you are a Somebody!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I saw a series on TV a few years ago called 'UP' which I had never seen before, I was quite touched by one of the participants in the show and felt for his story, From it I wrote this.
