Everything Remembered Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Everything Remembered

Everything to be remembered.
Is eventually forgotten to forget.
Introduced is something,
That becomes new and fresh.
And overnight gets,
Unexpected attention to it given.

What today is the rage.
And a 'must' with it wished to have.
Soon is regarded a commodity that bores.
Replaced.
To have its usefulness less accepted.
No longer embraced,
By welcoming arms or wide open doors.

Everything to be remembered.
Once romanticized and shown much love.
Has its moments to shine,
In the brightest of light.
But nothing remains,
Highlighted under spotlight.
Should be expected to remain,
As awesome as it was staying awesome forever.

Even if imitated to duplicate.
Once a freshness to experience,
Had and goes.
So too does the impact of it.
Forgotten to remember,
What it came to replace to introduce.
And that to live is life!
