Explaining The Universe(For Lyn) Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Explaining The Universe(For Lyn)

Rating: 5.0

“The dark
lives in the night

and the light
lives in the day.'

'At night the sun
becomes the moon

and the moon
(in the day)
becomes the sun.'

'The stars are just
little bits of broken glass

scattered everywhere! ”'

She stops: gasps
catches her breath

and continues
explaining the universe

to an amazed
dolly.

And so begins another thrilling journey by the poet into the wonderful world of childhood, and its beauty....for such it is, as well, for the poet to be able to go there!
