Facts Are Not Embellishments Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Facts Are Not Embellishments

Many have lived to create,
Their own realities.
Never to adapt,
To accept a truth.
More commonly disputed,
By the evidence of it produced.

Confusing these days have become to be.
What some witness to see,
Others refuse to accept it real.
Like homelessness and poverty.
Is thought to be an act performed.
And staged to view on their TV's.

Deception and honesty,
For some there is no difference...
Between the two.
Some honestly will lie.
To perceive this is not a deceiving to do.
And defend themselves too.
With others who also live to lie.

So confusing these days have become to be.
Even evidence and proof of it,
Is more scrutinize and criticized.
To have whoever found it to reveal,
Investigated for their unpatriotic deeds.
And hunted to uncover,
The hiding of their true identities.

Many have lived to create,
Their own realities.
Never to adapt to accept the truth.
And today those who live truth,
To know what truth is for them to be.
Are seldom heard trying to convince,
Or argue with others who disbelieve...
The reality of their experiences,
Are facts and not embellishments!
