Faery Call Poem by Donna Dudley

Faery Call

'Mid the tiny faery lights, come the winged and lovely fae,
From the Land of Magic Dreams, to our world, they've found their way.
And they come to find the dreamers, who, on lying down, each eve,
Spake the wish to join the faeries, with the promise, 'I believe! '

Now the breeze, through open windows, carries song, in faery rhyme,
'Come away, with us, sweet dreamers, for at last, has come your time!
To the magic and the wonder, join our hands, and we will fly,
To our Land of Joy forever; kiss the world of woe goodbye! '

There are those who hear and listen; there are those, who fear, to go.
Those whom Love has ever cherished, may decide to answer 'no'.
But the lonely and forsaken, who have sadly, n'er belonged,
With glad hearts, rush to the Faeries, on the notes, of Faery song.

'Fly away; away, we're going, to a far and distant shore,
Where the worries and the woe, of this life, give pain, no more!
We will dance among the flowers; we will fly among the stars,
Those who ever brought you sorrow, now shall wonder, where you are.'

There, across star-sprinkled sky, to the beat of music, wild,
See them flying on their way, winged fae, and human child.
On the trip to Evermore, to enchantment, and delight,
Now they pass beyond our world, to the magic Faery's night.
