Fair Poem by Malorie Mendez

Fair

Rating: 4.5

How can this be?
Your spirit died
Your eyes are blank
Sparks set aside

In your life
I used to find
A glimmer of hope
A heart that was kind

Now both are gone
My heart aches for you
The end is near
Your soul withdrew

My life is twined
Around your finger
One flick of the wrist
And the hurt turns to anger

I’m angry with you
It’s not fair to me
To ruin my life
Why can’t you see?
