Faith Poem by Oliver .........

Faith

No god I resist
Since in my marrow - bones
Or blood, a spatter of essence
Which no science could ever
Separate like an inborn appetite
Dwells! With this I grew up,
Strong like a willow on the far
Riparian soil's fertility, being comforted
Always with the flowing wetness
Of an immutable grace.
How could I be indifferent to
What's discerned in the depth
Somewhere in me for which
No art or thought has so far
Shown me any sufficient reason!
No God I resist since
In whom behind the origin dwells
A desire that burns like the past,
Present or, future which is
sufficient for me to trust
And stand on this edge of
My great invention!
