Fake Friends Poem by Randy McClave

Fake Friends

Fake friends will always ignore you
Until the time that you are needed,
Then they are again your best friend true
But, only of course when your help they have pleaded.
Maybe you own a truck
And they happened to need something moved,
Then you are their friend with a pickup by luck
And once again helping them, your friendship you proved.
Maybe they need some money
Or they need some help to pay on this or to buy that,
It's good luck that you're their friend, their honey
Then later you are just their doormat.
They never ever visit or give you a call
Unless they have a problem that they need to deal with,
They never contact you just to chat or to see you at all
To them friendship is just a myth.
Fake friends will give your their broken promises
Their word is no better than a lie,
They all become doubting Thomas's
They give their friendship a bloody nose and a black eye.
True friends are truly a Gift from God
A true friend never uses you, they always have your back,
A friend like that is truly appreciated and awed
And never do they trick you or give you flack.
