Fangs Of Terrorism Poem by Diwakar Bhatt

Fangs Of Terrorism

Rating: 5.0

What is happening? Have we become deaf and dumb?
Can’t we hear the agonizing cries? Or our sensations gone numb?
No! We can’t turn our eyes away from such a biting reality,
The fangs of terrorism inflicting gashes with acts of brutality.

The blasts, the bloodbath, the mangled bodies lying here & there,
Haunts the memories of survivors still living with the nightmare.
The gun fires, the chaos, the cries & the eerie silence to last,
Life came to a standstill as if some deathly spell been cast.

Somewhere a wailing child will sleep without a lullaby sung to him,
Mother died by the bullet of a terrorist blinded by unethical whim.
Somewhere, the lamps will not be lit in the night in desperation,
As the son of a family lost his life in the name of duty to nation.

Society, in a smoldering fire of hatred, intolerance, & terror,
Crumbling like embers turning into ashen beds creating horror.
Humanity is in unending sobs as love is dying at its feet,
Brotherhood is at stake, turmoil devouring peace as a feast.

Fabric of unity may be torn apart by the thorns of distrust,
Demon of Communalism may again quench its blood thirst.
Lets rise to the occasion, join hands and decisively combat terrorism,
Teach a lesson to those trying to undermine our spirit of nationalism.
