Farewell Poem by vinitha nandagopal

Farewell

It has been more than ten years now,
Since you decided to leave alone;
Forgetting all the promises;
To leave us behind lonely and insecure.

You just did not give a hint,
Of what it was that troubled you so much;
I would have gone to any extend;
And stood with you, come whatever may.

But then you did not bother to remember,
The strong emotional bond we had;
You just simply chose to walk away;
Into the cold and frozen tunnel of death;

Why did you prefer the coffin,
When you had'nt begun your life proper;
Some one so young and intelligent;
Why did you walk away like that.

I just cannot bear myself,
The sight of you, sleeping forever;
The tall muscular frame of yours;
Being lowered deep down the earth.

Deep anguish sweeps over my soul,
Shaking me literally inside out;
And why do i find myself alive;
In a dreadful world without you.
