Farewell Peter Pan… Poem by B3k Baylon

Farewell Peter Pan…

Isn't it a wonder when you come across someone ten years younger...
To discover that you have so much in common; share tears & laughter
The years are nothing but building blocks for trust and friendship
Time spent together are used to overcome differences & hardships

Like a breath of fresh air, it gives relief when you feel suffocated
by expectations... this tandem's a refuge when seemingly mutilated
Of the norms that tells you age comes with specific responsibilities
That people should learn and be well protected from harsh realities...

That life can't be forever all fun, games, and happy endings for dreamers
We all have to be serious; carefully make decisions and what comes after
But I'd say it wouldn't hurt to smile despite the troubles and tears...
Everyone needs an ally, a hand to hold when in doubt we walk in fear

Someone to remind you when we were once young and carefree...
The joys of finding unexpected things that makes us really happy
Though they may be absolutely ridiculous or just plain simple...
What counts is that it made life easier for you & other people

But like what they all say, we can't forever stay & believe in Neverland
Where no one ever grows old & wishes come true with a wave of a wand
Sooner or later the young friend will grow and I would have to let go...
a time that I would likely resist & think about with so much tears aflow
