Fear Poem by Ivan Cheong

Fear

I tried to walk into a cave with no lighting,
I knew I would end up dying.

Stones shockingly jumped in front of my feet,
I stepped on them with the confidence to defeat it.
Sky seemed to make them wet by pouring water,
For I could easily be trapped and then slipped.

I still behaved well and believed, but,
Who would give me chances?
When universe had previously marked you on the calendar,
Making you wait aimlessly for the eternal fear.

One day I tried to ask my Father,
He told me to fear no more.
I could not figure it out,
He told me again …

To only fear when you cannot fear.
