Fear Of Failure Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Fear Of Failure

Fear of failure keeps me chased.
As if a shadow casted,
To remind nothing to begin...
Ends feeling satisfied of its finishing.
One in a race with self.
Competing to see an approaching finish line.
Yet...
Each time it nears,
Finding it necessary...
Pushing it further away.
Knowing if to stop and rest,
Or catch one's breath...
May give a reason to excuse the acceptance,
Of becoming pleased...
With what one has accomplished.
And this is the fear one has.
Parting away from motivation, incentive and drive,
Can be a frightening thought.
To know this gone.
No longer perceiving a kept reason,
To run from a challenge one creates just to race.
Hoping for another.
Then another and others to come.
