Fearful Poem by Dorsey Baker

Fearful

Blades of lightning
streak
across the stormy sky
Angry thunder
barks in a very loud
and heavy voice
in the field
a rabbit runs for cover
a closet of skeletons
cling together
for safety
no bloody flesh
carpet the floor
nothing but the
nakedness of the truth
is heard to speak
when all else
has come and gone
the fragrance
of sweet perfume lingers
as we watch
the flood waters rise!
