Fears Of Stone Poem by louis rams

Fears Of Stone

I have become like stone and learned to face my fears alone
No one to hold my hand that can fully understand.
The terror that's in my heart tearing my life apart.
Flashbacks of things from my past that will forever last
A touch, a word, a time, a place these are the things that I must face
A secret buried so deep in my heart and of the memory
Of when it did start.
All children have fantasies, hopes and dreams of how life should be
Till they face their realities.
The world can be a cold and hard place showing the truth in it s face.
We go through childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age
And we are actors on that stage.
We play four different roles in all that we see and it's always a mystery.
With all my fears I also learned to love and forgive teaching myself how to live
I found that there is someone holding my hand and who does understand
He is the LORD up above giving me his unconditional love.
Keep the three alive - faith, hope, love
