Feathered Phenomena Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Feathered Phenomena

Stationary with a tiny heart beating
Hovering… up, down… left then right
Nectar lover searching persistently
Creating a blur with wings in flight

Long beak probing, sucking sweetness
Iridescent feathers of green and red
Connoisseur of colorful blossoms
Gently pollinating while being fed

God’s creation the hummingbird
An amazing phenomena to see
Locking my gaze to wondrous delight
Competing relentlessly with the bee
