Feigned Beauty Poem by Amiegbereta Edwin

Feigned Beauty

Rating: 4.5

The rose blossoming in beauty
Pleasing to the eyes
A symbol of love and Peace.
A blessing we all call it
A glory to be reckoned with.
Until time pulled away the veil
And the beauty starts to wane.
Oh! how has thy taught beguiled me
And they beauty feigned.
A beauty i was lust for
A beauty i once uphold.
You pulled me from the way
And to all my humble plans,
You say nay.
Now, here i stand
Afloat in the midst of the sea.

An insightful train of thought, well articulated, nicely encapsulated and subtly penned in poetic diction with conviction. I guess everything shall pass away, even blossoming beauties shall fade away. Lovely piece of poetry depicting the unchanging change of change. Thanks for sharing Edwin.
