Ferntree Gully To Belgrave By Rail Poem by Jason Bonhomme

Ferntree Gully To Belgrave By Rail

Hello deep funk
Hello train platform
The name is Jason
I'm still waiting to be born

Solitude
My truest companion
She guides me through the maze
Gives structure to the haze
You and I call the world

My heart is with the losers
Disabled, homeless and broken
Society's lepers offer the token
Humanity savoured through humble pie
Pure and sobering vision
Beheld with a higher eye

Beware the road much travelled
It segues into a ditch most deep
Make peace, embrace life's sorrow
Know you are great
Despite the crushing waves
Catharsis will be your keep.

Compelling and intense. Optimistic too though. Refreshing that he's not trying to solve anything, but embracing it as is.
