Fighting Alone Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Fighting Alone

Fighting alone

Cold, callous and heartless people;
Showing no love, no pathos, no pity
Though perfect human being he is
Helpful, truthful, honest
Loving, sharing, caring
And along with him
All the noble adjectives he is carrying
Today he is suffering
Him a dreadful disease striking
But he looks as charming as ever
Showing no sign of any fear
Not caring his sorrow
With anyone to share
With day to day activities
He is as usual
No deviation he cares
Sips early tea
Goes through newspaper
Shares news and views
With friends
And nears and dears
But about his fragile health
To none he ever tells
He is a dead man inside
But as charming as ever outside
When asked
How you managed your smiles
Despite all the pains and ills
Comes answer easy with smiles
See, this life, a gift of God
Call it curse or call it bliss
But for me it is bliss
And why dead before you are really dead
Be productive and constructive with it
Never give up till the last breath
And what about your friends
And nears and dears not concerned
About your health
Though you care for them
They are not to be blamed
For they are afraid of death
Oh, let me have a wealth
Of sorrows in my pack
And fight till the last breath.........
