Final Farewell Poem by Daniel Sims

Final Farewell

My final farewell is written in verse,
I'll soon be in that dark, sombre hearse,
The life within me drained as a bath,
I'm heading north, on my final path.

There's no will to live, and no one to live for,
Fragments of my soul lie somewhere offshore,
Mere memories of life, slowly fade,
As do the tears, as I lower the blade.

The rusty blade turns brown to red,
But I smile relief, I'll soon be dead,
The tears begin to fall as I remember she,
And I hope beyond hope that she's still happy.

As the final drops drip from my battered vein,
I realise my largest mistake above the pain,
That there was something to live for, that's you,
And the final image flashes before me, as us, as two.

i like this one. Sad but expressive. I have to say, though, it is a little depressing, but its a marvilous poem, indeed. I really liked it although considering the emotions within it. :)
