Finding Paradise Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Finding Paradise

Find paradise in my eyes,
Diamond secrets in my mind.
I shine for you and your world,
A lovely thought that makes any rock glow.
Free your love, I free you my love,
I won't run anymore.
You don't have to chase me around town.
I want you, want you to get down,
Down with me.
I want you to see,
A world of only me.
You used to watch me, wait for me,
While I worked at the local store.
And when I was done counting dimes,
You would wait with me on the bus ride home.
I said I didn't want your attention,
But secretly I adored your affection,
And now babe, your wait is finally over.
I gave my whole heart to you,
When I saw you waiting outside my bedroom window.
Now we run.
Lovers on the run.
Lets get out of this town,
Maybe hit Nevada, and
Ask that pretty question.
Next thing you know there's something sparkling on my finger,
I do, you do, we do forever.
No one knows, just our one collected soul.
Can't tell my daddy,
Mother mustn't know,
You, my shiny new hubby,
Needs some extra cash flow.
This too shall pass,
And pass it has.
Our love today on the 6th page of the daily.
You got the starring role in my heart,
And over time it may seem to fade,
But I hope you remember how we felt this way.
Our babies may not see it, and they may never know,
The world that you gave me, the love, my soul
Oh how you adored me.
I wish I showed you all the dreams you brought to life.
I wish you could know the value of each stolen kiss.
My dear, how could you leave me?
why does death fall in love with youth?
I still needed you.
Please my love, my darling soul mate,
Find paradise.
Though my memories are fading fast,
And my mind knows no one now.
I trust no one,
But you.
I trust in you my angel of love.
And when I leave this all behind,
I will be in paradise with you too.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This is the THIRD time I'm typing my comment - PH keeps erasing me, but I like this poem too much not to acknowledge it! What a wonderful poem about your grandparents! What wonderful grandparents to pass this story through you on its way to POETRY! The key line for me was OUR ONE COLLECTED SOUL the whole poem is contained in that kernel of truth but I'm glad you elaborated the narrative to tell the whole story. It has a ballad-like integrity. And the sentiment is heart-felt. GRANDPARENTS: One of nature's really successful inventions, don't you agree?

Such a heartfelt and emotional poem. Although so very heartbreaking and sad when one whom we love so deeply is taken before their time, I've always felt in that circumstance that young love will live on for eternity. Beautifully written poem.
