Firefly Who Led Me Astray Poem by Nana Cruz

Firefly Who Led Me Astray

I was walking through a forest one night
And I saw what appeared to be a firefly..
Angelic, harmless, and very beautiful..
I decided it was a sign,
Something that would get me out of this darkness..
So I followed it..
It led me high up into the mountains..
I saw the most beautiful view ever
And I was so grateful to finally be free..
No more dark forest, no more mundane scenery..
But the firefly suddenly flew away
And left me all alone on the mountain top..
She would return from time to time and give me
Scraps of bark and dirt to eat..
I would enjoy her beauty late at night,
She was the only light that shun in my life..
Bright gold she was, against the black sky.
But always, as quick as she would appear,
She would be gone, and I would be left alone once more.
I missed the comfort of the forest..
I always had food, shelter, and company..
Now I'm all alone, at the mercy of this tiny bug,
With no way to return home..
Then a long time passed and I didn't see my firefly,
She decided to stop visiting me.. I'm devastated..
I dont know what to do or where to go..
I miss home, but dont know how to return,
I kind of dont want to return anyways.. it wasn't pleasant before
And it wont be pleasant a second time around..
So, where to go? Where to go?
